About Raia Drogasil
The company was founded in downtown São Paulo. In March 1935, the company took its first steps towards creating the business, merging two family-owned pharmacy groups in São Paulo: Drogaria Bráulio and Drogaria Brasil. Always focusing on good service and building a trustworthy relationship with customers, the chain gradually expanded to other states.
In 1952, the company opened its own laboratory, producing creams, medicines, and other types of products. Looking to the future and continuing to grow, it began investing more in technology, leading the creation of an IT department in 1967 to help keep up with new developments and procedures. A few years later, always innovating, it went public, taking another important step: it was the first Brazilian pharmaceutical retail company to be listed on the stock exchange.
Since then, Drogasil has remained strong even during difficult economic times in Brazil and has earned the trust and strong support of customers and employees. In 2011, RD was created from the merger with Droga Raia, another major player in the segment. This connection further strengthened the brand and allowed it to expand to the Northeast region as well. Currently, the company has over six hundred stores nationwide, with more than 1,400 stores in total.
