If you depend on the Family Allowance or want to know if you are registered on Single Registry, the consultation is simple and can be done without leaving home. The best way to check if your name is on the list is by accessing the Single Registry Application, the government website or by calling the call center. In addition, city halls and Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) also offer this service.

But how does this registration work? Who can sign up? And what should you do if your name isn't on the list? Here, I'll explain everything clearly so you can easily check your status.

What is the Single Registry?

THE Single Registry (CadÚnico) is a government database that gathers information on low-income families in Brazil. It is essential for accessing various social programs, including Family Allowance, Social Energy Tariff, Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) and even discounts on public tender fees.

If your family is registered in the Single Registry, it means your data has been sent to the government for evaluation of eligible benefits. However, being registered does not automatically guarantee Bolsa Família—the government still makes a monthly selection based on the program's criteria.

How do you know if your name is in the Single Registry?

To check if you are in the Single Registry, there are some practical ways:

  • Through the Single Registry application (available for Android and iOS);
  • From the official website of the government (cadunico.dataprev.gov.br);
  • Calling 121, which is the Ministry of Social Development’s service channel;
  • Going to the nearest CRAS, carrying an identification document.

If your name is registered, you'll see your information and be able to check if any benefits are available. If you don't see your name on the list, it may be because your data hasn't been updated or your family hasn't been added to the system yet.

How do you know if you have been approved for Bolsa Família?

If you are already registered in the Single Registry, but want to know if you have been selected for the Family Allowance, the consultation can be made by:

  • Bolsa Família App (Android and iOS);
  • Caixa Tem App, where the benefit is paid;
  • Caixa Econômica Federal website;
  • Caixa call center, by phone 111;
  • CRAS in your city.

The government analyzes registrations monthly and automatically selects families that meet the program's criteria. If your name isn't already on the list, you may need to update your information in the Single Registry.

What to do if your name is not on the list?

If when consulting the Single Registry or the Family Allowance If you can't find your name, see what might be happening:

1# Outdated registration – The Single Registry must be updated every two years or whenever there are changes in the family (address, income, family composition). If your data is out of date, the government may not include your family in the list of beneficiaries.

2# Income criteria not met – Bolsa Família is aimed at families in vulnerable situations. If your per capita income exceeds the established limit, even by a small margin, you may not be selected.

3# Recent registration – If you recently registered, it may take some time for your data to be analyzed. It's best to monitor the status through the app or through CRAS.

4# Problem registering – In some cases, there may be a system error or missing documentation. If you have any questions, contact the CRAS (National Registry of Adolescents) and request a review of your registration.

How to register with the Single Registry?

If you don't have a registration yet, you need to go in person to a CRAS with the following documents:

  • CPF or Voter Registration Card of the family member;
  • Identity document (ID, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate) of all family members;
  • Updated proof of residence;
  • Proof of income, if any.

Registration is free and completed by a social interviewer, who collects family information. Afterward, your data is entered into the system and can be used to apply for benefits.

Is Bolsa Família guaranteed for everyone in the Single Registry?

No. Being registered in the Single Registry does not mean that your family will receive the Family Allowance automatically. The program prioritizes families in situations of greater vulnerability and with per capita income within the established limits.

The government conducts a monthly analysis to determine who will be included, and even those who already receive it must comply with the program's rules, such as:

  • Keeping children in school with minimum frequency required;
  • Monitor the health of children and pregnant women, with vaccinations and regular checkups;
  • Update the Single Registry periodically.

If your family meets all the requirements and is not yet on the beneficiary list, continue monitoring the monthly selections.
