History of Band

Rede Bandeirantes de Televisão (also known as Band) is a Brazilian television channel belonging to the Bandeirantes Communication Group. It was commissioned on May 13, 1967. 

Its founder was João Saad, whose father-in-law, the politician Adhemar de Barros, was the former owner of Rádio Bandeirantes. Currently, the station is managed by Johnny Saad, João Saad's son.
