What is Pix International?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Pix Internacional is a evolution of traditional Pix<\/strong>, with a focus on enabling instant transfers between countries<\/strong>. In other words, in the same way that today you can send money to someone in Brazil in seconds, it will be possible send and receive amounts from other countries<\/strong>, using only your cell phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative is being led by Central Bank of Brazil<\/strong>, which is in negotiations with financial institutions in other countries to make the system compatible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The idea is to create a global instant payments network<\/strong>, starting with Latin American countries, and then expanding to the United States, Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because the traditional international transfers are slow, expensive and bureaucratic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, to send money outside of Brazil (or receive it from there), you need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n With Pix Internacional, the promise is do this process in seconds<\/strong>, with much lower fees \u2014 or even no fees at all in some cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1# Brazilians living abroad<\/strong> 2# Brazilian tourists traveling<\/strong> 3# People who work for foreign companies<\/strong> 4# Companies that sell abroad<\/strong> Not yet for the general public. But the Central Bank has already signaled that wants to keep Pix Internacional with the same principle as the current Pix<\/strong>: zero or near-zero cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The exchange rate will apply, of course, but the idea is that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n In practice, this could eliminate the reliance on expensive apps for international transfers \u2014 and make the Pix is the preferred way to send money abroad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes.
